Sitting proudly on the northern most part of the Suffolk Coast is Lowestoft. Famous for being the most easterly town in England and the first place to see the sunrise in the UK, it's also the birthplace of composer Benjamin Britten. Pakefield is a coastal village joining south Lowestoft
The town is a favourite with families, and there's plenty to see and do; with two piers, golden sandy beaches. a wildlife park, an award-winning theme park, museums and a busy theatre.
Local attractions include Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park. A great day out for all the family, small rides for younger children and fast roller coasters for the more daring. Approx. 5 miles from the cottage you can also use your Tesco club card points for a cheep day out.

Pakefield horse riding school For beginners, and those who may never have ridden before, riders can go for a walk along the beach with staff leading the horses. For riders who have ridden before, you will be able to walk, trot and canter along the beach depending on your ability and confidence levels.
Carlton marshes At just over 437 football pitches in size, this large reserve offers plenty of space and fresh air, with wide open skies and unbroken views of the surrounding countryside. You can get away from it all and enjoy the very best of Suffolk’s amazing wildlife. There is an adventurous playscape for children, a visitor centre with café and shop, accessible and all-weather trails, which makes it the perfect family day out.
East Anglia transport museum is a unique project; the creation of a museum of street transport designed to show the development of mechanical transport over the best part of a century. The essence of transport is movement, which means you are able to experience riding on the restored exhibits.
Oulton broad river trips The Waveney Princess equipped with an open top deck and offering panoramic views over the Broadland landscape. Reed Warblers and Reed Buntings can often be heard singing from the reed beds as it sail past and Marsh Harriers sometimes fly alongside the boat.

Drive the Suffolk Heritage Coast to Southwold,
Southwold Pier was refurbished in 2005, the pretty pier offers a range of shops, eating places and amusements, from traditional two penny pushers to Tim Hunkin’s eccentric inventions. Don’t miss out on the famous Water Clock which causes a snigger every 30 minutes!
RSPB sanctuary at Minsmere, is a great place to discover some of the UK's rarest wildlife and enjoy family-friendly activities at Minsmere. Choose an idyllic walk or head to the coastal lagoons to see an impressive variety of birds, including avocets, bearded tits and bitterns. If you're lucky, you might see an otter around the reedbed pools.
Approx 10 miles the North of Lowestoft is Great Yarmouth. A very lively seaside town boasting miles of arcades, ice creams and candy floss. The sea life centre has an amazing tropical ocean display and tunnel holds 250,000 litres of natural seawater where you can see our largest inhabitants and interact with playful Humboldt Penguins as they swim and socialise together. The Pleasure-beach a large family fun fair and Joyland for the younger and less daring offer lots of excitement for all ages. The world famous Hippodrome circus well worth a visit for all ages with its water spectacular not to be missed.
When the sun goes down there is still lots of do in the area, Pakefield own Theatre 5 minutes walk from the cottage. The Seagull is a small not for profit community theatre in Pakefield, which plays host to a regular stream of local talent, regional and national touring theatre companies and a vibrant selection of classes and community events.
The Marina theatre in Lowestoft is also a great place to see local and visiting artists providing mixture of live entertainment and great cinema the Marina Theatre, in Lowestoft, is at the cultural heart of the community.
